Boilers
How much can I claim?
Up to 100% of purchase and installation costs, to a maximum of ÂŁ5,000.
Who’s eligible?
People in receipt of certain benefits and of homeowner, landlord, or social housing tenant status.
Do I have to apply for it?
Yes.
When will it be paid?
Between 24 hours and 4 weeks following approval.
First-time central heating
How much can I claim?
Up to ÂŁ6,000.
Who’s eligible?
People who don’t have central heating already installed on their property, whose property has an EPC rating of E, F, or G, are in receipt of certain benefits, and are either the homeowners or renting privately.
Do I have to apply for it?
Yes.
When will it be paid?
Between 24 hours and 4 weeks following approval.
Electric storage heaters
How much can I claim?
It depends on the size of the home.
Who’s eligible?
If your property has an EPC rating of D or lower, you’re in receipt of certain benefits, and are either the homeowner, renting privately, or living in social housing, and the combined household earnings are less than £31,00 per year.
Do I have to apply for it?
Yes.
When will it be paid?
Between 24 hours and 4 weeks following approval.
Heat pumps
How much can I claim?
Up to ÂŁ5,000 In England and Wales and up to ÂŁ9,000 in Scotland.
Who’s eligible?
You own your own home or have permission from your landlord to go ahead with the installation, the property is privately owned, and you are in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits.
Do I have to apply for it?
Yes.
When will it be paid?
Between 24 hours and 4 weeks following approval.
How much can I claim?

Who qualifies for a Government heating grant?
Each scheme has its own set of qualification criteria, but certain requirements seem to be universal, including being on a low income and the property actually needing the energy upgrades.
