Why install commercial EV chargers?

Electric vehicles are the future of the UK’s roads and commuting in general. Get ahead of the curve now and help your commercial venture prosper with the following benefits:

  • Improve your sustainability image: Installing EV chargers shows that your business cares about the environment. This can attract customers who share your values.
  • Increased employee satisfaction: Offering EV charging can attract and keep employees who drive electric cars. This is even more relevant in areas where public charging spots are few and far between.
  • Enhances property value: Buyers like properties with pre-installed chargers because they’re convenient and sustainable.
  • Financial incentives are available: Schemes such as OZEV and the Workplace Charging Scheme can help offset the cost of installation and make EV charging more affordable for your business.
  • Gain a competitive advantage: Businesses that offer EV chargers will have a competitive advantage over those that don’t. By installing EV chargers now, you can be ahead of the curve and attract new customers.

FAQs

You must have a few questions. We’ve answered some of the most commonly-asked questions about gas central heating systems and free central heating grants here, but please speak to the team if you have any more.

Can I make money from an EV charger?

Yes, there are a few different ways you could make money from an EV charger:

– You can charge a fee for the use of the charger. This is the most common way to make money from EV chargers.
– You can place ads on or near the charger. This can be a great way to generate revenue if you have a high-traffic location.
– Another lucrative way of making money from having a business EV charger installed is by partnering with a company to sponsor it.

If you’re interested in exploring these options, speak to our expert team, who’ll be happy to advise you on the type of charger that would best suit your commercial needs.

Can a company pay for an EV charger at home?

Yes, there are three different ways a company could make this happen for their employee:

– They can directly pay for the installation and maintenance of the EV charger.
– The company could reimburse employees once they’ve paid for any installation and maintenance work.
– They can provide employees with vouchers that can be used to pay for the purchase, installation, or maintenance costs of an EV charger.

If you’d like to do this for your employees and need a competitive, no-obligation quote, call us on 01942 918 844 or come and complete the inquiry form, and we’ll call you back.

Can employers charge for EV charging?

There’s no UK law that states that employees are entitled to charge their electric vehicles for free at work, but there are some restrictions on how much they can charge. According to the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS), employers cannot charge employees more than the cost of the electricity used to charge their vehicles. This includes the cost of the electricity, any standing charges, and any network charges.

How much are electric car charging points for businesses in the UK?

You could install a commercial EV charging point for as little as £149, including VAT. Speak to our team if you’d like a quote
