How it Works

The Solar Together method of purchasing solar equipment is a simple 5 step process:

When you register online, we’ll ask you a few questions about your home, roof, and electricity usage. If you’re only registering for battery storage, then you’ll be asked about your current solar PV system and electricity usage too. This should take no longer than five minutes and will help us determine if you’re a good fit for Solar Together.

If you don’t know the exact figures for your roof size or electricity usage, we can help you estimate with industry or local averages, and you can always enter more accurate information at a later date.

The Auction

An auction then takes place where pre-vetted installers like us bid for control of the price cap on all solar systems and battery systems. But this is a reverse auction, so the lowest bid wins.

Personal Recommendation

After the auction is finished, you will receive a personal recommendation from Solar Together which will include information about the winning installer, how much a complete system would cost you based on the figures from the final winning bid, and costs and savings.

Decision Time

Once you’ve received your personal recommendation, you’ll have six weeks to decide whether you want to accept the offer or not. If you choose to go ahead and accept Solar Together, we’ll ask you for a £150 deposit. Grant Store is proud to be a chosen installer on the Buckinghamshire Solar Together scheme. We’ve been installing solar panels and battery storage for over a decade and have a proven track record of providing high-quality installations.

To help you decide, you’ll have the opportunity to attend an online information session where you’ll hear from the winning installer and can ask any questions you may have in a live Q&A session.

Roof Survey and Installation

Roof Survey

After accepting your personal recommendation, the winning installer will need to survey your roof. The roof survey can only be done after the £150 deposit has been received. Once on-site, the installer will check whether the recommended number of panels will fit and if the expected generation will be reached. During the survey, you can also ask the installer questions or discuss changes based on your particular roof.

If there are any changes to your original personal recommendation, you will need to approve your survey report and the new contract. Once the installation is complete, you will receive the invoice minus the deposit. This final invoice must be paid in full after the installation.
