Am I eligible for an ECO4 grant?

Eligibility for the ECO4 scheme is pretty straightforward. You’re in the running if:

  • You are a homeowner, private renter or social housing tenant
  • Your property has an EPC rating of D, E, F or G
  • You claim one of the following benefits:
    • Child Benefit
    • Pension Guarantee Credit
    • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
    • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
    • Income Support
    • Tax Credits (Child Tax Credits and Working Tax Credits)
    • Universal Credit
    • Housing benefit
    • Pension credit saving credit

Don’t worry if you don’t meet this requirement, though, as local authorities can also refer people in their area under the ECO Flex. You could be eligible for this if you live in a property that needs energy efficiency upgrades and: 

  • You have a combined gross annual household income under £31,000 or
  • A person in your household has a severe or long-term health condition that is worsened by living in a cold home
