Am I eligible for an electric storage heater grant?

You could be eligible for an electric storage heater grant under the ECO4 Scheme if:

  • You are a homeowner, private renter or social housing tenant
  • Your property has an EPC rating of D, E, F or G
  • You receive at least one of the following benefits:
    • Child Benefit
    • Pension Guarantee Credit
    • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
    • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
    • Income Support
    • Tax Credits (Child Tax Credits and Working Tax Credits)
    • Universal Credit
    • Housing benefit
    • Pension credit saving credit

Don’t meet the above criteria? Local authorities can also refer people in their area under the ECO Flex. You could be eligible for ECO Flex if you live in a property that needs energy efficiency upgrades and:

  • You have a combined gross annual household income under £31,000 or
  • A person in your household has a severe or long-term health condition that is worsened by living in a cold home
