What upgrades are available on a central heating grant?

There are plenty of upgrades available that you could qualify for. Take a look below at some of the main ones:

Boilers

Make your home warmer and more efficient with the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS). Find out how to claim up to £5,000 towards your costs of a new boiler below.

How much can I claim?

Up to 100% of purchase and installation costs, to a maximum of £5,000.

Who’s eligible?

You can apply if:

You live in a house or a small business building in England or Wales. (Large buildings do not qualify.)

Your current heating system must use either fossil fuels (like oil or gas) or electricity.

Your property has a valid energy performance certificate (EPC)

You haven’t already replaced your boiler with a low-carbon system like a heat pump.

The grant cannot be combined with other government funding specifically for heat pumps or biomass boilers. However, you can still apply if you’ve received funding for other energy-saving measures in your home, like loft insulation or new windows.

This scheme is not available for newly built homes or social housing, but it does apply to self-built properties.

Who’s eligible?

People who don’t have central heating already installed on their property, whose property has an EPC rating of E, F, or G, are either the homeowners or renting privately and are in receipt of the benefits below:
