How the ECO4 grant scheme works

ECO4 is the latest and last iteration of the government’s ECO funding scheme. It has £4 billion of funding allocated to it, and it has three main purposes:

  1. Help the government meet its target of net zero carbon emissions by the year 2050
  2. To help people out of fuel poverty
  3. Make homes more energy efficient and less polluting

It launched in 2022 and will run until March 2026.

What can you claim funding for under ECO4?

How much funding can you claim under the ECO4 scheme?

This will all depend on your unique personal circumstances and the type of work that you have done. For example, you could claim as little as £500 for roof insulation and as much as £9,000 for a ground source heat pump. Your grant could pay just a portion of what the work would cost or pay for it in full. Every claim is treated differently and on its own merits. Grants for some products and installations are only available until 2024, so apply now before the funding is withdrawn for good.
